The Advisory Alliance for Health (AAH) is an Africa-based, Africa-led and Africa-focused organisation that partners with governments, funders, philanthropies, delivery partners and other stakeholders to strengthen sustainable financing, primary health care and community health systems. AAH's fiscal sponsorship platform provides mission-aligned initiatives with the legal, fiduciary and operational infrastructure required to receive and manage funding, deliver programmes compliantly and scale their impact.
 
The Director of Strategy & Operations (DS&O) is AAH's senior leader responsible for shaping enterprise strategy and converting it into sustained organisational performance. Working closely with the Co-Chief Executive Officers, Board and Executive Committee, the DS&O will lead strategic planning, portfolio choices, organisational transformation, enterprise performance and cross-functional execution, including building fiscal sponsorship into a distinctive, trusted and financially sustainable strategic pillar.
 
Key accountabilities span enterprise strategy and transformation; fiscal sponsorship growth and partner delivery; operating model, systems and operational excellence; governance, risk, compliance and financial sustainability; and people, leadership and organisational capability.
 
Requirements: postgraduate qualification in strategy, business administration, operations, finance, public administration, international development, public health or related discipline; minimum 15 years' progressive experience including at least 7 years in executive or enterprise-wide leadership within complex multi-country nonprofit, philanthropic, development or mission-led organisations; demonstrated experience with donor-funded portfolios or fiduciary platforms, nonprofit finance, restricted funding, grants and contracts, internal controls, audit and governance; experience operating across African jurisdictions and advising Boards and executive teams; excellent written and verbal English required, French or another relevant language an advantage.
