DW Akademie in Bonn or Berlin seeks an Officer (f/m/d) Project Finances, fixed-term until 31 December 2028, starting 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible. The role advises project managers on planning, budgeting, accounting and steering of third-party funds, with a focus on EU funding (NDICI/Global Europe, Horizon) as well as other donors such as the German Federal Foreign Office, GIZ and BMZ. Responsibilities include monitoring and controlling fund disbursement, advising on top-up and reallocation requests and adjusting financing plans, processing fund requests and preparing interim and usage verification reports according to grant regulations, reviewing budgets, reports and contracts for compliance with grant regulations and risk minimization, producing cross-project evaluations for internal and external reporting (Excel, MS Lists, Power Query), digitalizing and optimizing controlling processes, and coordinating project audits. Candidates should hold a completed degree (Diplom/Master) in business administration with a focus on controlling/finance or comparable qualification, have professional experience in project controlling or a business-related field, sound knowledge of grant law including EU regulations (e.g. PRAG, INTPA rules) and German federal budget regulations, ideally experience in development cooperation, excellent MS Office skills (especially Excel, ideally MS Lists and Power Query, SAP knowledge an advantage), analytical thinking and numerical aptitude, a structured and independent working style, team skills and strong communication with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, and negotiation-level German (at least C1) plus very good English (at least B2).
