Orbis International is an international nonprofit delivering sight-saving programs in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. The Senior Accounting Manager serves as a key technical expert within the Finance and Administration team, ensuring accounts reflect the highest standards of accuracy, supporting the annual audit, managing restricted fund reporting, and overseeing accounting for the Canada affiliate.

Location: Remote, anywhere in the United States
Compensation: $110–120k USD/year plus benefits

Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate Finance: Prepare timely and accurate monthly Financial Statements in compliance with GAAP; maintain supporting schedules and perform monthly reconciliation of temporarily restricted net asset balances; reconcile restricted funds with Development and program finance teams; assist Controller in processing payments; prepare and manage invoicing to Canada, UK and Ireland affiliate offices; perform monthly reconciliations for credit cards, accounts receivables, pledges, affiliate finances, and accrued expenses.
- Compliance & Audit: Manage PBC audit work papers and liaise with external auditors during annual audit; coordinate and prepare Form 990, 990T and related schedules; ensure compliance with GAAP and donor-specific requirements; stay current with changes in financial regulations.
- Canadian Affiliate Accounting: Provide guidance for banking functions; ensure timely GST filings; liaise with affiliate leadership for board meeting financial reports; manage audit work papers for Canada affiliate.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor two accounting professionals; foster collaborative work environment; crosstrain Finance team members; conduct performance evaluations.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; minimum 8 years progressive accounting experience including 3+ years supervising direct reports; minimum 5 years in nonprofit fund accounting with hands-on management of restricted net assets; experience coordinating Form 990 and 990T filings; proficiency in MS Office, MIP, and financial software systems.
