Transport & Environment (T&E) is an independent, non-partisan think tank and expert group focused on decarbonizing transport in Europe by 2050. T&E is hiring a Media and Communications Manager for its Polish national office (T&E Poland) in Warsaw, a hybrid, full-time, long-term position with some travel to key EU capitals, mostly Brussels.
The post-holder will plan and execute communications related to T&E Poland's priorities, shape the office's communications strategy, and develop new channels to get T&E's message across.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the communications and media strategy for T&E Poland.
- Create and deliver communications plans for T&E Poland's priority areas, including drafting press releases, general media work and launches of key research and reports.
- Build and manage relations with media outlets, newswires and correspondents in Poland and occasionally other European countries, pitching stories, interviews, op-eds and letters to the editor, and running outreach to automotive, energy, shipping, aviation and environment trade publications as well as mainstream national and regional media.
- Monitor Polish media, identifying key trends and opportunities for T&E.
- Work with the Digital Manager to update the T&E website and create social media content based on campaigns, reports and infographics.
- Organize media briefings and events.
- Liaise with external agencies such as PR, digital, video and polling agencies.
- Contribute to in-house reporting (including to Polish members) and donor reporting.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in Polish media outreach and a good understanding of the Polish media market (print, newswire, TV, radio, web).
- Good political awareness and diplomatic skills.
- Strong, fast writing skills, able to translate technical reports into media-friendly materials.
- Strong professional social media experience.
- Excellent time management, planning and prioritization skills, able to work under pressure.
- 5 years of relevant experience in communications, journalism or a related field, ideally in transport, environment and/or energy communications.
- Native-level Polish and proficiency in written and spoken English.
