World Renew is seeking a full-time, salaried Country Director for Bangladesh, based in Dhaka. The role sits within the Asia Ministry Team and reports to the Chief Program and Implementation Officer (CPIO). Salary level: $73,278.76 - $82,436.71 USD.
Purpose: The Country Director leads, manages and implements the Bangladesh country strategy to achieve World Renew's vision of community transformation, in alignment with its values, standards and global strategic priorities. The post holder acts as World Renew's in-country representative to government entities, partners, alliances and donors, and is responsible for day-to-day operations of the country office, including administration, human resources and financial management.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and update the country strategy and a multi-year operational plan, aligned with regional strategy and global priorities.
- Build and manage relationships with partner staff, networks, alliances, national religious leaders, government representatives and NGOs.
- Develop a country funding and donor management strategy to secure a stable funding base.
- Ensure financial oversight of the country budget.
- Provide human resource leadership: policy compliance, workforce metrics, recruitment, compensation, employee development and staff care.
- Ensure staff are oriented to organisational policies and the Core Humanitarian Standard.
- Provide administrative oversight of country office matters and assets, including compliance with national laws and security protocols.
- Maintain relationships with donors and constituents, including supporting education and fundraising efforts, which may involve travel within Canada/USA.
- Supervise national staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum ten years' cross-cultural international management or organizational development experience in community development, disaster response and/or organizational consultation, including at least three years of management experience.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated competence in administration, human resources, financial/budgeting and fundraising; strong donor and grant management knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a complex, collaborative international team environment and to work with partner organizations.
- Commitment to gender equality, diversity, inclusion and equity.
- Fluent English; fluency in a widely used local language is an asset.
- Active Christian faith and ability to affirm World Renew's Statement of Faith.
- Willingness to travel in-country up to approximately 30%, including remote, disaster-affected and occasionally high-risk environments, and to travel internationally periodically.
