ChildFund is a child-focused international development organization that connects children with the people, resources and institutions they need to grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for two years, on-site in McAllen, Texas, requiring bilingual Spanish/English skills. The pay is $18 per hour with full benefits. The position provides cross-functional operational and administrative support to the Texas team, and is instrumental in supporting sponsorship operations, day-to-day logistics, vendor relationships, procurement, fleet management, internal communications and scheduling, and external engagement with local community partners. The Assistant will also help improve systems and workflows, support donor readiness and sponsorship support, program assistance, and ensure efficiency across the office.
Primary responsibilities include developing standard operating procedures for administrative and office management functions; providing administrative support to the Country Director (scheduling, correspondence, coordination); monitoring data collection tools to track participation and document impact; leading production of a monthly Texas team newsletter; supporting school/community activities and managing sponsorship processes during peak seasonal periods; purchasing and tracking supplies for cost efficiency and budget compliance; reviewing materials for ChildFund branding compliance; organizing meetings, workshops and travel logistics; coordinating gifts-in-kind resources; and supporting the digital transition of sponsorship processes.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education; 2-3 years of relevant experience in administrative coordination, logistics, or operations; experience with Microsoft Office. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English is required; experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines are essential.
