Director, Global HR Compliance & Operations (UK Posting)
Vital Strategies is a global public health organization working in more than 80 countries to strengthen public health systems and address the world's leading causes of illness, injury, and death, with priorities including noncommunicable disease prevention, tobacco control, road safety, food policy, environmental health, and data for health. The Director, Global HR Operations and Compliance is a critical leadership role responsible for advancing HR operational excellence, strengthening global compliance, and supporting the evolution of people practices. With seven global offices and Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements in thirteen countries, the position provides strategic leadership and oversight for global HR operations, compliance framework, and employee services, ensuring consistent, efficient, and legally compliant HR practices across all locations. Reporting to the Vice President, Global HR, the Director leads development and implementation of inclusive policies and best practices; provides guidance on global employment actions and employee relations; supports workforce expansion into new countries; and oversees global compensation, benefits, and HR governance. Duties span global HR operations (standardized policies, EOR management, benefits renewals, compensation benchmarking, HRIS administration), compliance (labor-law and donor-guideline adherence, audits, data retention, risk mitigation), and employee services (SOPs, HR Help Desk, complex employee relations, manager training). This role may be based in the UK, Switzerland, or Kenya. Salary ranges: UK £110,000-£120,000; Switzerland CHF 120,000-140,000; Kenya KES 14,000,000-18,500,000. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field; HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CIPD) preferred; minimum 15 years progressive HR experience including global HR operations, compliance, and employee services within a complex multi-country or mission-driven organization; experience with EOR arrangements, HR audits, HRIS optimization (UKG preferred), and complex employee relations.
