The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation, is seeking applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will advance the University's mission through excellence in teaching and curriculum development at the graduate level, with instruction in intersensory mediation for the creative industries, accessibility, and disability studies, with particular focus on Arabic-speaking contexts. The role requires a commitment to scholarly excellence through original research, pursuit of external funding, and mentorship of student research projects, championing interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusive communication practices. Responsibilities include conducting courses and seminars, supervising independent study and research projects/theses, serving as an academic advisor, serving on and chairing University and College committees, publishing findings in scholarly journals or books, seeking research funding, and building strategic partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations to advance accessibility and inclusion across diverse linguistic, cultural, and media landscapes throughout Qatar and the wider Arab region. Requirements: a Ph.D. or terminal degree from an accredited university; 2-5 years of relevant full-time university teaching experience in research or higher education; evidence of proficiency in teaching, student supervision, and curriculum and program development; research and scholarly achievements adequate for the rank of Assistant Professor; a portfolio of scholarly endeavors (funded research grants, publications, IP/patents); evidence of an increasing regional and international reputation; and the ability to work with diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
