ABOUT THE ROLE
 
Transparency International Secretariat (TI) is currently seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (m/f/d).
 
As a member of the Development & Partnerships team, the Fundraising Coordinator plays a key role in the implementation of the TI's fundraising strategy, contributing to the diversification, sustainability and growth of income from institutional donors. The role supports the development of high-quality funding proposals and coordinates complex proposal processes across TI teams, national chapters and external partners.
 
This position requires a deep knowledge and experience in proposal design and development, along with a strong interest in working within a complex international environment. The successful candidate will bring the ability to critically reflect on concepts, processes and performance, and to continuously adapt their approach to improve quality and impact.
 
The role involves regular interaction with donors and partners. As such, strong communication skills, relationship building ability, and confidence in engaging with external stakeholders are essential. Existing donor or policy level contacts, particularly within institutional funding contexts, are an asset, as is the ability to build trusted relationships over time.
 
Collaboration and partnership are central to the Fundraising Coordinator's work. The role requires a self-motivated, proactive professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities and deadline, and contribute constructively within cross functional and cross-cultural teams.
 
The Development & Partnerships Team supports the delivery of TI priorities within the framework of Transparency International's Global Strategy 2030 - Holding Power to Account, and the Fundraising Coordinator contributes directly to enabling this strategic ambition through effective resource mobilisation.
 
OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Fundraising Coordinator supports the development and delivery of high-quality institutional and strategic fundraising initiatives, with a strong focus on institutional donors. The role coordinates proposal development processes, supports donor engagement, and contributes to strengthening TI and Movement-wide fundraising capacity.
 
This role suits professionals with solid experience in institutional fundraising, grant management, or complex bid/proposal development, gained in NGOs, civil society, or relevant private sector contexts such as consulting, public sector bidding, partnerships, or regulated industries.
 
Team: Development & Partnerships.
 
Reporting Line: Head of Development & Partnerships.
 
Band: According to TI-S internal salary structure; this position is aligned with band PF2, with a salary range of EUR 42.000-59.000 gross per year. Final salary placement will be determined based on the amount of years of relevant professional experience.
 
Starting Date: July 2026.
 
Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organizational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.
 
Working Hours: full-time [100%; 40 hours per week]
 
Location: Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S), role will be based in Berlin.
 
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
Institutional Fundraising & Proposal Development
  • Coordinate the design, drafting, budgeting and submission of competitive and non-competitive funding proposals to government and multilateral donors.
  • Support and, where appropriate, lead proposal development processes in close collaboration with TI teams, chapters, and external partners.
  • Research funding opportunities and contribute to the conceptual development of high-quality proposals aligned with TI strategy and donor priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, guidelines, templates, timelines and internal quality standards
  • Donor Engagement & Partnerships
  • Support the development and maintenance of constructive relationships with key counterparts, donor representatives and relevant intermediaries.
  • Assist in organizing donor briefings, showcases and engagement opportunities to raise visibility of TI's work.
  • Coordination & Internal Collaboration
  • Coordinate day-to-day fundraising processes to ensure deliverables are completed efficiently, on time, and to a high standard.
  • Provide guidance and advice to TI colleagues on donor rules and regulations.
  • Support contract negotiations and grant agreement processes in collaboration with programme and finance colleagues.
  • Contribute to internal projects, tools, policies and procedures to strengthen institutional fundraising systems and practices.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
 
Experience & Qualifications
  • University degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in fundraising, grant acquisition, proposal development, or complex bid/tender processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with institutional donors, foundations or public-sector funding mechanisms.
  • Relevant experience from NGOs, international organisations, consultancies, or private sector roles involving structured proposals, partnerships or regulated funding environments is welcome.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of donor funding cycles, compliance requirements, budgeting and reporting.
  • Practical experience with results-based management, logical frameworks and MEL planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive fundraising materials.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and build effective internal and external relationships.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to translate opportunities into concrete actions.
  • Professional fluency in English required; additional languages are an asset.
