Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world's leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a Supply Chain & Admin Officer for its operations in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. The role has a field office focus and ensures compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines, supporting implementation of country strategies and providing support and technical guidance to field office operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure all supply chain and logistics processes follow the DRC Operations Handbook (procure-to-pay, assets, stocks, fleet, generators).
- Manage procurement at the Area office within approved thresholds, implement procurement plans, run RFQ/LVP processes in compliance with DRC and donor regulations, maintain request trackers, perform regular market surveys, and process payments for completed goods, services and works.
- Asset management: maintain the fixed asset register, ensure tagging and physical counts, and report monthly on asset condition, disposals, transfers and donations.
- Warehouse management: implement warehouse SOPs (stock management, bin and stock cards, waybills, GRN), check received goods against PO specifications, ensure timely dispatch, coordinate mid-year and year-end inventories, and report on stock.
- Fleet and generator management: implement fleet policies, maintain weekly movement plans and vehicle records, monitor fuel consumption and running costs, and propose cost reductions.
- Administration: oversee office management, coordinate field visits for external visitors, act as focal point for contract agreements with lessors, handle staff onboarding/exit procedures, and ensure utilities and office supplies are paid and purchased on time.
Requirements:
- BA in Business Administration, Supplies Management, Management or another relevant business field.
- 3 years' experience for Diploma holders or above; 2 years for BA holders.
- Experience working in NGOs; strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills; high integrity and team-player; proven commitment to accountability practices.
- Computer skills: word processing and database management packages.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Contract: 10 months, National Contract, Band H2, starting 15 November 2026. Only qualified Ethiopian nationals are encouraged to apply. Women candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.
