ALIMA (Alliance for International Medical Action) provides life-saving care to the most vulnerable populations, without discrimination, in 12 African countries. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ALIMA has worked since 2011 and currently operates in South Kivu, North Kivu and Ituri, with emergency response to epidemic-prone diseases (Ebola, Mpox), acute malnutrition care, integrated health, nutrition, WASH and protection interventions. The mission is supported by institutional donors including GHSD (US State Department), ECHO, CDCS, OFA/OCHA, FH, CIFF and FCDO.
The Donor Relations Officer (Grants Officer) is based in the Goma coordination office, with possible travel to other provinces, and reports to the Donor Relations Manager DRC. The role ensures the operational and contractual follow-up of the GHSD funding, making sure commitments to the donor are met and project deliverables are of high quality.
Main responsibilities:
- Donor deliverables and reporting: coordinate the preparation, consolidation and submission of narrative, financial and other contractual reports on time and to quality standards; track the calendar of contractual obligations; centralise and verify contributions from program, finance, MEAL, operations and partner teams; archive and maintain traceability of documents.
- Donor communication and relationship: act as the operational focal point with the donor in DRC; prepare responses to donor requests, meetings and technical exchanges; follow up on commitments.
- Consortium coordination: facilitate information flow among consortium partners, track partner commitments, activities and deadlines, consolidate their contributions, organise coordination meetings and flag delays or risks.
- Compliance monitoring: monitor contractual requirements and donor obligations, identify and resolve non-compliance risks, ensure adherence to ALIMA procedures and donor requirements, and track indicators with program, MEAL and finance teams.
- Related funding development: contribute to identifying and developing funding opportunities linked to the Ebola response and health system strengthening, and support concept notes and proposals.
- Internal coordination: ensure smooth information flow on GHSD funding across teams and support teams in understanding reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or equivalent (development studies, public health, international relations, project management, etc.)
- Excellent English and French, written and spoken
- Good command of project management tools (project cycle, logframe, proposals, reporting)
- At least one year of professional experience in reporting, project design and/or management, plus field experience
- Excellent analytical, synthesis and writing skills; autonomy, initiative, teamwork and communication skills
Conditions: 12-month fixed-term contract (CDD) under French law, renewable; salary per ALIMA grid (level 9) plus experience recognition and per diem; travel, accommodation, medical coverage and evacuation covered; start date ASAP. Child/vulnerable-adult protection level 3: criminal record check or equivalent required.
