Humanity & Inclusion (Handicap International) is an independent and impartial international solidarity organisation working alongside persons with disabilities and vulnerable populations in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict and disaster. HI has operated in the DRC since 1995 and implements a diversified portfolio of humanitarian and development projects, with a strong presence in Kinshasa and in the East of the country (Goma/Mweso, Beni, Uvira). The programme works in a complex security, administrative and operational context.
Location: Goma or Kinshasa (candidate's choice). Desired start date: early January 2027. Contract: 24 months, international contract. Kinshasa is a family/couple-accompanied post; Goma is unaccompanied.
Mission: The Finance Manager leads the finance teams, ensures compliance with the organisation's standards and local financial rules, sets financial strategy and steering, and oversees operational financial management. The post provides overall steering of the Finance function and consolidation of the programme's financials across Kinshasa and several decentralised bases, including management of partnership agreements, financial follow-up of partners and reporting to consortium leads and donors.
Requirements:
- Proven financial management experience in a complex, multi-base, multi-donor programme.
- Strong strategic financial steering: financial analysis, risk anticipation and recommendations to Programme Management.
- Proven experience structuring and strengthening a Finance department: clarifying roles, delegating, reinforcing steering and control mechanisms.
- Strong capacity building skills: coaching, supporting managers and Finance teams, skills transfer.
- Collaborative leadership, listening and dialogue.
- Good management of pressure and priorities during peak periods, closings, audits or emergencies.
- Ability to manage remote teams across national, zone Finance and base levels.
- Professional fluency in French and English.
Benefits: International 24-month contract with social coverage (pension, health, repatriation, provident cover); salary from €2,757 gross/month depending on experience; per diem (Goma €684 net/month, Kinshasa €1,150 net/month); hardship allowance (Goma €500 net/month, Kinshasa €0); 25 paid leave days per year; R&R 5 days every 8 weeks; travel, visa and personal effects transport covered; child allowance of €100 from 12 months for 2+ dependent children.
