The post holder(s) will provide necessary support to the WASH Officer in implementation of quality WASH programme - WASH constructions, NFIs, Hygiene promotion and Upscaling WASH'em services in communities targeted by Save the Children in the region of Garissa/Wajir/Mandera/Tana River. The post is specifically oriented towards the WASH emergency response in the context of the crisis Elnino preparedness, with attention to integration of WASH with nutrition, food security, health, education and child protection.

Key responsibilities include: assisting the WASH Officer in follow-up and evaluation of construction/rehabilitation of WASH infrastructures (animal troughs, tank platforms, elevated tower tanks, reticulation systems, borehole equipping and solarization); holding project site meetings with contractors and community representatives; planning and organizing hygiene promotion and distribution of WASH NFIs (jerricans, buckets, soap, PUR, Aquatabs); maintaining WASH documentation and success stories; supervising contractors and validating quality of work; planning field logistics for monitoring; verifying construction quality against standards; weekly reporting of project indicators; and daily reporting to the WASH Officer.

Requirements: a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or Public Health and Sanitation; minimum 2 years professional experience in WASH infrastructure construction in humanitarian or development contexts; experience in project management and community participation/accountability approaches; knowledge of monitoring and evaluation; strong communication, writing, and representation skills; ability to speak English/Kiswahili/Somali; willingness to work in difficult and insecure circumstances.
