Location: Maputo, Mozambique
FHI 360 is seeking a Senior Program Officer (SPO) to serve as a core member of the EpiC WASH team in Mozambique. The SPO will provide day-to-day coordination, tracking, and quality assurance support to ensure technical assistance activities are delivered on time, meet required standards, and are compliant with donor requirements and organizational policies. The role serves as the operational and coordination link between technical staff, sub-partners, and internal operations, finance, and M&E teams, tracking progress against the workplan, coordinating deliverables and reports, and maintaining systems, trackers, and processes for quality and coherence across project activities.
Accountabilities include supporting the Senior Technical Advisor-WASH in implementing EpiC WASH activities; coordinating consultants, technical staff, and sub-partners; designing and establishing in-country subawards including selection processes and budgets; ensuring quality across technical scopes of work, budgets, and M&E frameworks; monitoring subawardees; synthesizing progress reports for senior management; maintaining documentation and filing; supporting proposal preparation and donor coordination; and building capacity of staff and partners.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economic Development, Education, Business or related field; project management certification preferred; minimum 6+ years relevant project management experience; prior work on a USG-funded health project with an NGO, government agency, or private organization; demonstrated experience designing and managing in-country subawards for donor-funded health or development projects; fluent English and Portuguese; strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Salary range: USD 47,500-55,000 annual basic salary. Travel up to 20%.
