Climate Cardinals is inviting applications for a part-time Translation Manager position for individuals interested in helping make climate information more accessible across different languages. The Translation Manager will oversee Climate Cardinals' translation process from the receipt of a request through to final delivery, managing translation requests from partners, responding to volunteer questions, monitoring progress, addressing issues, and ensuring completed translations are delivered on time. The organisation primarily uses Phrase to manage its translation workflow, with much of the process automated; the Translation Manager will monitor the system, track ongoing requests, and help resolve problems affecting delivery or quality. The role also involves working with Climate Cardinals' new translation dashboard, including testing the system and identifying opportunities for improvement. Candidates should be comfortable identifying problems, taking initiative, making practical improvements, and working independently while knowing when to involve other team members. Preferred experience includes startups, product design, product operations, or similar operational/technology-focused environments; translation experience or knowledge of additional languages is an advantage but not required. Position: part-time, approximately 6-8 hours per week, reporting to the Chief Programs Officer, with meetings at least once every two weeks. Pay is $18-$20 per hour, adjusted according to local economy. Applicants outside the United States will be engaged as independent contractors rather than part-time employees.
