We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable full-time Research Assistant to assist Prof Brenda Yeoh on various migration and/or sustainability projects. The successful candidate will be based at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore, and will work with an international team of migration scholars. Responsibilities include primary and secondary data collection, literature review, writing and editing reports, publications and materials, administrative work, and assisting with organising workshops and seminars. The candidate will also assist on a new project on 'Low-carbon communities and their futuring practices in Singapore'. Requirements: good administrative, organisational and team-building skills, and an aptitude for working in a Southeast Asian context; strong library research skills; excellent command of spoken and written English and the ability to write for a variety of audiences; strong ability to perform editing work on manuscripts; a willingness to play a co-ordinating role in liaising with different research members in the cluster/projects. Minimum qualification: a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the Social Sciences (particularly Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science or Global Studies), with research interests in migration studies in the Southeast Asian region, climate change and/or sustainability. Terms include an all-inclusive fixed salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, pro-rated holiday leave of up to 28 days per calendar year, and medical benefits entitlement.
