As Strategic Investment Partnerships Lead, you will enable Welthungerhilfe (WHH) to realize its sustainable Global Growth ambition by steering the development and launch of high-impact 'Big Bets' -- novel solutions, investment mechanisms, and partnerships that address underfunded, high-leverage opportunities and accelerate progress toward Zero Hunger on a Healthy Planet. The role focuses on building strategic investment partnerships that influence funding priorities, flows, and mechanisms.
Responsibilities include leading an organization-wide opportunity funnel for Big Bets; establishing governance, decision-making criteria and processes for prioritization; coordinating cross-functional teams to identify and develop opportunities; translating opportunities into mechanisms such as coalitions, funds, public-private partnerships or ventures; mapping and engaging funders, investors and other key actors; developing tailored partnership and capital mobilization strategies; building coalitions to align public, philanthropic and private capital; and strengthening WHH's role as a thought leader in investment partnerships.
Candidates should have a strong track record establishing ventures, partnerships or influential programs in international cooperation, cross-functional experience across programs, innovation, policy and business development, strong understanding of funding dynamics including ODA and philanthropic giving, and experience in low-income, fragile and conflict-affected settings. Excellent English required; French is an asset. Position based in Kenya, Ethiopia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States or Germany, with a two-year contract with good prospects for extension.
