As Business Development Lead, you will enable Welthungerhilfe (WHH) to realize its sustainable Global Growth ambition by managing the end-to-end capture of high-value funding opportunities ("Big Bids") closely aligned with WHH's identity, strategy, and capabilities. The role can be based in Kenya, Ethiopia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, or Germany, on a 50% part-time or 100% full-time basis, with a two-year contract with good prospects for extension.
 
Responsibilities: Develop and implement the operational vision and strategy for capturing Big Bids; lead the end-to-end capture process from ecosystem engagement and positioning through concept development, submission and post-submission handover; coordinate cross-functional teams and partners; take a hands-on role as lead writer for promising bids, developing compelling opportunity cases, pitches and proposals; develop value propositions and win themes; strengthen business developers' capacity across WHH; monitor and improve capture rates and business development performance; identify future pathways in food systems, WASH, humanitarian systems, climate resilience and nutrition; contribute to WHH's thought leadership.
 
Requirements: Proven success in end-to-end business development for high-value funding opportunities, with management/leadership experience a strong asset; strong pitching, leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills; strong understanding of sector trends in nutrition, climate, food, WASH and humanitarian systems; excellent understanding of funding dynamics including ODA, public/private investment and philanthropic giving; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment; strong network of relationships with philanthropic and institutional donors; experience in low-income, fragile and conflict-affected settings is an asset; excellent English required, good French is a strong asset.
