Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent aid organisation working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict and disaster alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations. HI initiated operations in Sudan in early 2024 and has since expanded to West Darfur, Al Jazirah State, and Tawila in North Darfur, where it opened an office in January 2026 to deploy logistics and emergency medical teams amid the North Darfur emergency.
Reporting to the Country Director, the Area HR Manager defines and rolls out the HR component of the country's operational strategy. Responsibilities include: managing the HR team at area level; drafting, revising and implementing the operational strategy (Stratop) in line with HI's financial policies; deploying and monitoring HI's HR policies, processes and tools; supervising adaptation and contextualisation of HR frameworks; ensuring quality of auditing, internal control and archiving procedures; overseeing resourcing, career management and skills development; coordinating administrative management for all staff; assisting managers with HR policy implementation; ensuring compliance with the legal HR framework; supporting the Country Manager on Code of Conduct, PSEA, and Fraud and Corruption Policy deployment; and contributing to emergency preparedness and response.
Requirements: relevant training in HR management and development of humanitarian projects/operations; at least 4 years of professional experience in emergency response, including at least 3 years in an HR coordination/manager role in emergency or post-emergency contexts; strong analytical skills; ability to work in fast-moving emergency contexts; project cycle management; conflict handling ability; flexibility and adaptability; ability to work remotely including capacity building; excellent communication skills; English required, Arabic an asset.
Contract: 3 months (renewable subject to funding), international contract starting November 2026, based in Tawila. Salary from €2,757 gross/month depending on experience, plus per diem, hardship allowance, paid leave, R&R, and collective housing.
