Danish Refugee Council is looking for a qualified Protection Officer - Protection Case Management for its operations in Jigjiga/Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. Under the supervision of the Protection Project Manager, the incumbent will implement protection case management activities in line with international standards and DRC's protection case management SOP, conducting service mapping and coordinating with UN agencies, INGOs, and local CSOs serving people on the move. Duties include identification, assessment, planning, intervention and follow-up for vulnerable beneficiaries; ensuring functional referral pathways across Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Jigjiga and Togochale; coordinating health, MHPSS, legal and other services for trafficking and protection risks; cross-border case management coordination; case conferencing for complex cases; facilitating cash for protection (C4P); and maintaining confidential records in ActivityInfo. Requires minimum 3 years' experience in the legal sector, preferably humanitarian, and minimum 3 years in migration-context case management with an international NGO, UN agency or CSO; practical experience on the Eastern Migration Route and cross-border case management; strong analytical, planning and interpersonal skills; a university degree in Social Work, Law, Sociology, Psychology or related field; and excellent English proficiency. Contract length 12 months, national contract, Band H2, start date 15 October 2026. Only qualified Ethiopian nationals encouraged to apply.
