Humanity & Inclusion is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster, alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations. Since 1982, HI has run development and humanitarian projects in more than 55 countries.

The AVR Specialist contributes within Sudan to the implementation of HI's mandate and 10-year strategy, ensuring optimal quality and impact of Armed Violence Reduction (AVR) projects through a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. Based in Khartoum, the AVR Specialist is responsible for developing, driving and monitoring the AVR technical strategy, particularly on explosive ordnance risk education (EORE), victim assistance (VA), community engagement, and links with land release. They will lead capacity building of HI operational staff and local project partners on EORE and VA, and ensure quality control of materials and activities.

Main responsibilities include: providing technical expertise and strategy input on AVR; leading development of SOPs, tools and guidance materials; monitoring technical quality of EORE and VA activities; capacity building and technical assistance to partners; representing HI's AVR expertise externally and liaising with the Sudan National Mine Action Authority; contributing to business development and proposal writing; and supporting emergency preparedness and response.

Requirements: strong expertise in risk education and victim assistance; proven experience in AVR capacity building and technical assistance; mastery of community engagement, quality assurance and quality control; experience in operational partnerships, proposal writing and networking. Fluency in English mandatory, Arabic a plus.

Contract: 4 months international contract (renewable), starting asap, based in Khartoum, unaccompanied position with collective housing provided.
