Location: Italy

Within the framework of the MEAL Unit and the WeWorld Quality Accountability Unit, the French-speaking MEAL Expert will support and follow WeWorld programmes in French-speaking countries, working partly remotely and partly through on-site missions to country offices. Main functions include: technical assistance (40%) - supporting set-up of tools and procedures, helpdesk on methodology, support in selecting MEAL personnel, contributing to MEAL strategies; capacity building (25%) - developing training modules, inductions, guidelines and mentoring MEAL staff; knowledge management (15%) - collecting best practices, contributing to a Learning Agenda, developing knowledge management tools and policy/advocacy documents; project design (15%) - supporting proposal development, needs assessments and quality control of logical frameworks; coordination (5%) - participating in meetings and coordinating with MEAL staff at country and regional level. Essential requirements: advanced university degree in Social/Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Data Science, Information Management, Project Management or similar; proficiency in French (B2) and English (B1); good knowledge of Microsoft 365; 3-5 years of experience in MEAL/M&E in emergency/development/protracted crisis contexts; experience supervising and mentoring teams in cross-cultural settings; experience with quantitative and qualitative methods, mobile data collection tools (e.g. Kobo, Microsoft Forms), and proposal/grant development. Portuguese and Italian knowledge is a desirable asset.
