NRC is looking for a Humanitarian Policy Manager to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will provide overall leadership, management, and strategic direction to the policy and advocacy work in Myanmar, identifying priority protection concerns for advocacy, strengthening the incorporation of advocacy into NRC activities, and guiding advocacy messaging to promote an improved protection and humanitarian response environment. Key responsibilities include advocacy response identification and prioritisation on protection and humanitarian access issues, advocacy strategy development and implementation, coordinating advocacy and communications messaging, ensuring coherence between advocacy and programmes, training and capacity building of staff, humanitarian and displacement analysis including public-facing advocacy products, media strategy advice, and NRC representation in advocacy networks. Candidates should bring manager/adviser experience in the humanitarian field, knowledge of protection principles and advocacy, exposure to media for public advocacy, expertise in policy processes relating to forced displacement and migration, strong analysis, messaging, coordination and networking experience, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, exposure to complex and volatile contexts, and fluency in English. Duty station is Yangon, Myanmar or Bangkok, Thailand, subject to visa/work permit availability. This is a 12-month contract with approximately 20% travel, at Grade 9 in NRC's Salary Scale with a competitive compensation and benefits package.
