UNESCO seeks a specialized consultant to take full responsibility for linguistic interpretation and audio equipment logistics during the 'Educación para pasados violentos' event organized by the UNESCO Representation Office in Guatemala, including workshop sessions for 45 participants and two guided museum visits. Scope of work: provide simultaneous interpretation (English-Spanish/Spanish-English) during all workshop sessions for 45 registered participants over four days; supply and manage rental of complete simultaneous interpretation equipment (45 receivers with headsets and charged batteries, interpreter transmitter, and microphone); conduct sound tests and pre-event installation; manage distribution, control, and collection of headsets among participants; provide accompanying/consecutive interpretation during two field visits, facilitating interaction with site guides and the delegation. Contract duration: 3 months, consultant contract, Level 2 - Middle, hired by the Education Sector (ED). Assignment starts 1 October 2026 and ends 10 December 2026; interpretation services to be delivered 16-19 November 2026 in Antigua Guatemala. Deliverables include effective interpretation services during workshop days and museum visits, a signed delivery/receipt control sheet for audio equipment among the 45 participants, and rental supply of the complete simultaneous interpretation equipment set. Required qualifications: degree in Translation or related field, with desirable technical or multidisciplinary background (computer science or social sciences); certified sworn interpreter/translator (English-Spanish) with over 20 years of experience; proven experience interpreting for international cooperation/public sector events and coordinating interpretation teams for groups of more than 40 people.
