SNV Mozambique seeks a Climate Resilience Advisor to support the design and implementation of a new Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project, subject to project award, based in Maputo Province. The Advisor will lead the integration of climate resilience into program design and implementation, ensuring WASH interventions are adaptive, inclusive and sustainable in the face of climate variability and change. Key responsibilities include providing technical leadership on climate resilience within WASH programs, ensuring integration of climate-smart approaches; leading climate risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to guide WASH interventions; supporting proposal development, donor engagement and technical design of climate-resilient WASH projects; providing technical assistance and training to government entities at central, provincial and district levels on climate finance mechanisms including the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Adaptation Fund, Global Environment Facility (GEF, including LDCF/SCCF), Climate Investment Funds (CIF), African Development Bank (AfDB) and bilateral climate finance mechanisms; supporting government technically in accreditation processes and development of concept notes and full proposals, including successful submissions to GCF, GEF or other climate funds; building capacity of SNV staff, partners and government institutions in climate change adaptation strategies; ensuring alignment with SNV's CARE principles, safeguarding commitments and national climate change policies; and representing SNV in technical forums and networks related to climate resilience and WASH. Requirements: Master's degree in Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Water Resources or related field; minimum 7 years of experience in climate resilience, climate change adaptation or disaster risk reduction, preferably in WASH or related sectors; experience with GCF, Adaptation Fund, GEF (including LDCF/SCCF), CIF, AfDB and bilateral climate finance mechanisms, including accreditation processes and proposal development; in-depth knowledge of the climate context and climate risks in Mozambique or Southern Africa; proven track record in proposal development and design of donor-funded projects; work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, with knowledge of Mozambique's climate context and WASH sector an advantage; excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills; commitment to diversity, inclusion and safeguarding principles. National contract, 7-12 months.
