Save the Children Colombia seeks an Education Officer for its Arauca operations, working under the Operations Directorate on a fixed-term basis. The role leads training spaces for educational institutions and teachers in Arauca department to promote the right to education, implementing pedagogical activities with children in literacy and STEAM approaches, and generating cooperative work with territorial authorities to guarantee children's right to education.

Key responsibilities include leading implementation of educational projects and pedagogical tools with teachers; developing workshops promoting healthy habits in school environments; providing technical and pedagogical support to the team; developing reading clubs, youth clubs, and digital classrooms in targeted schools; coordinating with Education Secretariats, municipal authorities, and focal points; representing the organization in inter-institutional forums; monitoring project indicators and reporting results; and ensuring compliance with safeguarding, security, and anti-fraud policies.

Requirements: professional degree in a related field; willingness to reside in Arauca and travel to other municipalities; minimum 3 years of experience in related functions; experience in educational processes with teachers and school leadership; experience creating pedagogical materials; knowledge of the Colombian education system, STEAM pedagogy, literacy teaching models, youth participation, children's rights, humanitarian principles, and the Colombian conflict/migration context. Desirable: one or more years of experience in social/educational projects with communities affected by emergencies, and knowledge of programming languages such as Scratch or M-Block.

This role involves frequent contact with children (Level 3 safeguarding) and requires rigorous background checks under Save the Children's Child Safeguarding Policy.
