The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) is an independent civil society organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with a globally dispersed Secretariat working across 43 countries. GI-TOC brings together a global network of more than 810 independent experts and a team of over 150 staff dedicated to understanding and responding to organized crime through research, analysis, policy engagement and support to civil society actors. Project Assistants work as part of multi-functional teams to deliver GI-TOC activities effectively, under the direction of the observatory director, project leaders, and programme management and finance teams. The Project Assistant will work with the Head of the Southern Africa Observatory and/or project leads to provide administrative and logistical support, including: compiling invoices and ensuring compliance with donor guidelines; tracking budgets and invoices; overseeing procurement and contract management for the field network; liaising with staff, experts and consultants on administrative documents; helping organize workshops and roundtables; arranging meetings and webinars; preparing meeting materials, presentations, agendas and minutes; monitoring project activities; assisting with travel arrangements and DSA payments; assisting in preparation of progress and financial reports; serving as a focal point for audit exercises; and other administrative and project-support tasks. Requirements: undergraduate degree in Management, Human Resources or Business; at least 3 years' experience in administrative and management support, preferably within international organizations; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ability to work accurately under deadlines and pressure; strong communication and organisational skills; independent, creative and highly motivated; fluency in spoken and written English.
