Location: Amman, Jordan
The Head of Finance & Operations (HFO) oversees operational support functions for the War Child Jordan and Syria Programme, including financial management, budget control, audit & compliance, logistics & procurement, administration and ICT. The HFO manages finance, administration and ICT/logistics staff, builds their capacity, and supports operational capacity of War Child's partners in the Syria Response programme. Reporting to the Country Director and serving on the Senior Management Team, the HFO advises on financial control, prepares budgets and reports, oversees banking and cash management, leads budgeting and donor reporting, manages audits and compliance including counter-terrorism screening, oversees procurement and logistics policies, manages administration and ICT support, and supervises and builds capacity of operational staff and partners. Requires minimum 5 years' experience in similar positions with an NGO/INGO, a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or similar, relevant experience in an additional operational function beyond finance, strong understanding of procurement policies, a track record managing staff, and experience in complex humanitarian contexts such as the Syria response strongly preferred. Fluency in Arabic and English required, along with financial planning/budgeting software skills, donor compliance knowledge, and strong computer/Excel skills. Position is open to candidates based in Jordan or Syria with regular travel between the two.
