The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer will support the effective monitoring, accountability and evaluation of DRC Syria's programme, as per the MEAL strategy, ensuring achievement of MEAL standards and program quality. The role involves conducting monitoring visits, supporting program teams in data collection and analysis, tool design, and collecting M&E information from field sites and activities for effective information management, accountability and reporting. At least 40% of the time is dedicated to field visits. Reporting to the MEAL Manager, the duty station is the Area level office in Homs and Hama.
Key responsibilities include coordinating M&E tool development and data collection, supporting field data collection exercises, recruiting and training data collectors, gathering beneficiary feedback, undertaking periodic monitoring visits, updating indicator performance trackers, supporting accountability mechanisms (CHS, FCRM), assisting in documenting lessons learned, drafting monitoring reports, and supporting operations tasks.
Essential experience: at least 2-3 years of experience in humanitarian assistance, international development, M&E, or social science research; demonstrable experience in project/program planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation; strong analytical skills including MS Office; fluent English and Arabic. Bachelor's degree preferred in social science, humanitarian, or development studies. Contract length is 6 months, extendable based on performance and funds.
