Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organization. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through unarmed civilian protection (UCP), reducing violence and protecting civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and helping transform the world's response to conflict situations.

Department: Advocacy and Communications. Duty Station: Geneva, Switzerland. Line Manager: Global Head of Advocacy and Communications. Line Management: Media Advisor, Communications Specialist.

Position Purpose: The Global Communications Manager (GCM) leads the day-to-day management of NP's global communications function, ensuring NP communicates with clarity, consistency, quality and impact across internal and external audiences. The GCM plays a key role in strengthening NP's global voice, visibility and reputation, helping advance recognition of civilian protection and the role of nonviolent action as an effective response to violent conflict. Working closely with the Global Head of Advocacy & Communications, the GCM leads implementation and ongoing development of NP's global communications strategy, manages the global communications team, and works across programs, advocacy, fundraising and organizational leadership.

Key accountabilities: implement and strengthen the global communications strategy and annual plans; use communications data and analytics to improve performance; lead day-to-day communications operations including editorial calendars, workflows, production schedules, systems and quality-assurance processes; lead external storytelling across digital platforms, publications, media and campaigns, ensuring the voices and agency of civilians are represented ethically; coordinate media engagement; identify emerging communications and reputational risks and contribute to crisis and emergency response communications; partner with programs, advocacy, fundraising and country teams; and lead, mentor and develop the global communications team, manage delegated budgets and external suppliers, and strengthen communications capacity across country programs.

Essential experience: minimum 7 years of progressively responsible communications experience, ideally within an international NGO, humanitarian organization or similarly complex environment; demonstrated experience managing a communications function or team; strong experience implementing communications strategies across digital communications, media relations, editorial content and storytelling; excellent writing and editing skills; proven ability to communicate in sensitive, politically complex or conflict-affected contexts; experience advising senior leaders; people-management experience; and strong cross-functional, cross-cultural collaboration. Desirable: experience in humanitarian action, peacebuilding, protection or human rights; advocacy and/or fundraising communications; brand management and communications analytics.

Employment Type: Full-Time/Standard. Compensation: CHF 99,000 - CHF 113,400 gross per year.
