The Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT delivers research-based solutions that harness agricultural biodiversity and sustainably transform food systems to improve people's lives. Alliance solutions address the global crises of malnutrition, climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation. The Alliance works with local, national and multinational partners across Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and Africa, and with the public and private sectors, and is part of CGIAR.

About the position: With the organizational merger of Bioversity International and CIAT now consolidated, the Alliance is ready to move beyond co-existence toward genuinely unified ways of working — redesigning its operational processes end-to-end and embedding them in a modern, integrated digital infrastructure. The Manager, Business Processes Transformation will lead this transformation agenda over the coming years. The first and most significant delivery will be the Alliance Corporate System (ACS) Single Client project, consolidating the Alliance's two separate ERP clients into a single unified system while preserving legal entity separation for statutory reporting. At its core this is a business process reengineering initiative. Based in Rome, Italy, the role leads end-to-end delivery and coordination of the program, liaising between the external implementation partner, the Systems Integration team, the Data Management and Open Science team and business stakeholders. This is a program governance and coordination role, not a hands-on technical or configuration position, reporting to the Global Director, Digital Transformation.

Key duties: lead the program vision, roadmap and value case; champion business process reengineering ahead of system configuration; lead vendor selection and the RFP process and manage the implementation partner; track budget and expenditure; coordinate the six end-to-end process threads (Opportunity to Impact, Procure to Pay, Hire to Retire, Plan to Deliver, Record to Report, Foundation); oversee data migration strategy including master data deduplication and general ledger opening balance reconciliation; connect with IT security and access management with mandatory security sign-off before go-live; liaise with the Change Management lead on communications, training and user adoption; baseline KPIs and define a benefits tracking framework; manage risks and scope changes via formal change requests; report to the Steering Committee; lead go-live preparation, cutover and hypercare.

Requirements: Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; minimum 8 years of ERP program management experience in complex, multi-entity environments with a strong emphasis on business process reengineering; proven experience with Unit4 Business World or comparable ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday) at program governance level; fluency in English (Spanish, Italian or French an advantage); background in Lean or Six Sigma; familiarity with CGIAR, international research or non-profit environments desirable. Demonstrated ability to facilitate business process redesign across Finance, Procurement, HR and Research Operations; vendor management and contract oversight; leading cross-functional teams in distributed international organizations.

Terms: internationally or nationally recruited position based in Rome, Italy, graded at BG10. Competitive salary and benefits including insurance, retirement plan, staff training and development, paid time off and flexible working. Contract for 2 years with a 6-month probationary period, renewable subject to performance, project needs and availability of funds.

Closing date: 2026-09-09
