The Finance and Operations Associate is a core member of the Finance and Operations (FinOps) team within the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program (Aspen FSP), supporting a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that advance FSP's priorities and mission. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a background and/or interest in nonprofit operations, finance, development, or administration. This position is based at Aspen's Washington D.C. headquarters, with an in-office expectation of a minimum of 2x a week.

Financial Operations:
- Support accounts payable processes: process invoices, set up and maintain vendor records, code expenses accurately
- Support accounts receivable processes: create and send invoices, track receipt of incoming funds
- Track expenses and support budget reconciliation: monitor departmental and project-level spending against approved budgets
- Maintain financial data and records in internal FSP tracking tools and Aspen Central accounting systems
- Support budget creation and forecasting: contribute to annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
- Assist with monthly and annual financial closeout activities

Operations and Administrative Support:
- Support office operations and workplace logistics
- Provide meeting and administrative support; schedule shared meeting spaces
- Maintain operational resources and documentation
- Maintain digital filing systems
- Support project management and business systems
- Assist with process improvements

Development and Grant Administration Support:
- Assist in drafting, proofreading, and organizing supporting documents for grant proposals and reports
- Track grant expenditures and monitor how restricted funds are allocated
- Maintain accurate records in the fundraising pipeline
- Manage routine CRM entries and support system updates

Requirements:
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in nonprofit operations, administrative, or finance environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated comfort with data and spreadsheets; experience with financial data a plus
- Commitment to the mission of the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program
