MAIN JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Head of Base Maintenance, the Technical Stores Officer is responsible for the procurement, receipt, storage, inventory control, and issuance of aircraft spare parts, materials, and services required to support aircraft maintenance operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Stores and Inventory:

Receive, inspect, store, and issue aircraft parts and materials in accordance with company procedures and aviation standards
Verify all incoming and outgoing materials supported by required airworthiness and regulatory documentation; maintain full traceability of inventory
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock transactions are promptly recorded in the inventory management system
Monitor stock levels and maintain adequate inventory of critical aircraft parts to support maintenance operations
Manage shelf-life-controlled and time-expired items using the First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) principle
Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliations; investigate and report variances
Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and compliant storage environment
Communicate material shortages, stock discrepancies, or delayed deliveries affecting maintenance schedules
Maintain proper hazardous material storage and control
Participate in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions

Tools & Equipment:

Implement calibration systems for tools and equipment used for inspection and testing
Ensure all tools and test equipment are regularly inspected and calibrated
Carry out daily tool checks and ensure Toolbox inventory is always current

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma or Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in aviation stores operations, inventory and warehouse management, material planning and stock control
Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft parts, tools, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), consumables, and KCAA regulatory documentation requirements
Experience with ERP systems and/or Inventory Management systems
Good communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Sound knowledge of inventory control principles and stock management practices
Proficiency in MS Office applications and inventory management systems
Hands-on aircraft maintenance experience is an added advantage
