Position Summary: The ESL Program Assistant will assist the ESL team with student enrollments, pretesting, attendance tracking, in-class assistance, posttesting, and volunteer management. They will support students who need extra help adjusting to classes or referrals for other services, partnering with learners from many different ethnic, religious, linguistic, and educational backgrounds to build their confidence in English communication. This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week on a hybrid schedule (primarily in-office Thursdays and some Wednesdays, up to 1 remote day per week).

Responsibilities: Complete intakes and enrollment paperwork with new students; lead or co-lead pretesting sessions; assist instructors with posttesting; serve as a floating class assistant; occasionally substitute teach ESL classes; reach out to students facing challenges; collect student feedback; provide 1:1 tutoring for students with unique needs; maintain student and volunteer records confidentially; participate in team meetings and trainings.

Requirements: Mature and personal Christian faith; commitment to World Relief's mission, vision, and values; ability to affirm World Relief's Core Beliefs and Statement of Faith; demonstrated ability to work sensitively with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds; strong administrative skills; valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Preferred: good organizational skills, excellent English communication, knowledge of a second language (French, Portuguese, Arabic, Spanish, or Somali a plus), prior ESL program experience, and familiarity with the refugee resettlement process. Pay: $23.50 - $24.20 an hour.
