POSITION SUMMARY: The World Relief Western Washington (WRWW) Thurston County Office seeks an experienced, well-organized, and strategic-minded staff member to mobilize local community groups, churches, and individuals to serve the vulnerable, particularly refugee and immigrant communities. Reports to the Thurston County Site Manager and assists with public relations, marketing, and fundraising. Also works to mobilize, train, and deploy volunteers to serve refugees and other immigrants in Thurston County. Hybrid: 4 days in office, 1 work-from-home.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Community mobilization — develop and grow a diverse network of local churches and faith communities; equip and mobilize faith leaders and community members; provide ongoing training and support; regular public speaking at community groups, churches, schools, and events; coordinate webinars; implement a strategy for sustainable volunteer recruitment and onboarding. Public Relations/Marketing/Fundraising — plan, execute, and evaluate events, marketing campaigns, and fundraising initiatives; provide Thurston-specific material for social media and print; cultivate relationships with partner churches and individual donors, soliciting contributions.
REQUIREMENTS: Mature and personal Christian faith; commitment to World Relief's mission, vision, and values; ability to affirm World Relief's Core Beliefs and Statement of Faith; valid driver's license and reliable vehicle; strong public speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with partners from a wide range of faith perspectives; previous experience working with vulnerable populations (especially refugees and immigrants) and organizing groups or volunteers. PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Bible school or seminary background preferred); proficiency with Microsoft Office; self-motivated; capable of working regular evenings and weekends. Pay: $24.35 - $25.10 an hour.
