Bodhi Global Analysis is a woman-led international development research consultancy established in London in 2017, with subsidiaries in Nairobi, Singapore, Dar es Salaam and The Hague, specialising in formative and evaluative research through participatory approaches for UN agencies, bilateral donors, INGOs and regional organisations across fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Bodhi is recruiting a senior researcher and team leader to head its Gender, Inclusion and Protection team, reflecting growing client demand for work on gender-based violence, protection risk analysis and survivor-centred programming. This is a hands-on senior role: you will set the technical and commercial direction of the team while also designing methodologies, travelling to the field (approximately one to two months per year), conducting interviews, and authoring and quality-assuring client reports. The team works across the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding nexus, covering sexual and gender-based violence, protection risk analysis, PSEAH, gender analysis and transformative programming (GESI), and inclusion of marginalised groups. Key responsibilities span technical leadership, fieldwork and data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis and report writing, project and portfolio leadership, business development, and team and organisational leadership. Essential requirements include a PhD in a relevant discipline; a minimum of ten years' professional experience delivering research, analysis and evaluation in international development or humanitarian contexts, much of it in fragile and conflict-affected settings; demonstrable technical specialism in SGBV; native or near-native English plus professional proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic; extensive fieldwork experience; a strong authorship record; and mixed-methods competence. Salary is £60,000–£70,000 (UK), benchmarked to national market for other locations. Location is flexible (UK, Europe, East Africa, Southern Africa, West Africa or South East Asia), with direct employment where Bodhi holds legal entities (UK, Kenya, Tanzania, Singapore, Netherlands) or a long-term consultancy agreement elsewhere.
