Position Summary: This position provides case management services to immigrant families, including applying for public benefits, accessing medical care, assisting children to enroll in school, providing referrals to external organizations, and ongoing community orientation.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments with immigrant families to assess needs and barriers and facilitate connections to appropriate services.
- Assist asylum-seeking families in accessing and understanding public benefits such as Medicaid, All Kids, VTTC and WIC.
- Orient participants to the healthcare system including making appointments, arranging transportation, and communicating with physicians.
- Provide education/orientation to families regarding their new surroundings in Chicago.
- Assist immigrants in scheduling and attending appointments with social service and medical providers, at times providing transportation.
- Maintain timely and accurate client files, case notes, and reporting records.
- Participate in department meetings and program trainings.
Job Requirements: Mature and personal Christian faith; commitment to World Relief's mission, vision and values; ability to affirm World Relief's Core Beliefs and Statement of Faith; valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle and ability to pass MVR standards; willingness to drive a minivan and/or 15-passenger van; bilingual (Spanish or Arabic preferred); proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred: knowledge of the immigrant experience, trauma-informed care experience, strong mediation and problem-solving skills. Compensation: $23 - $26 an hour, plus a competitive benefits package. Christian faith is a prerequisite for employment under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
