Africa50 is an infrastructure investor and asset manager that contributes to Africa's growth by developing and investing in bankable projects, catalysing public sector capital, and mobilizing private sector funding. The Africa50 Infrastructure Acceleration Fund (IAF) is a Private Equity fund sponsored by Africa50 Group, operating across diversified sectors including Power & Energy, Water & Sanitation, Transport & Logistics, and Digital & Social Infrastructure. The Fund invests equity/quasi-equity in majority and/or minority-controlled portfolio companies across Africa.
Principal Responsibilities: Participate in developing a strong pipeline of opportunities by anticipating market trends and employing sector/sponsor/country knowledge; conduct financial modeling and valuation of potential investments; coordinate and drive various workstreams across due diligence (financial, commercial, legal, technical, ESG); participate in negotiations with sponsors; prepare project-related documents for internal and external audiences; contribute to monitoring portfolio companies and analyzing potential exit opportunities.
Required background: 6 to 10 years' experience in investment banking (M&A), private equity or similar roles; advanced degree (MBA, MA, or MS); strong modeling and valuation skills, with experience in emerging markets preferred; investing experience in power/gas, transportation, digital infrastructure, water and sanitation, healthcare or education sectors is a plus. Essential qualities include high integrity, strong work ethic, self-starter initiative, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent English required (French is a plus). Position is based in Casablanca, Morocco, with flexible working arrangements; candidates should be willing to travel regularly.
