Global Fund for Women funds bold, ambitious gender justice movements to create lasting change. The People & Culture Officer plays a central role in cultivating an organizational culture where staff feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive. Reporting to the VP of People & Culture, the officer supports core HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives. Key responsibilities: lead full-cycle recruitment in collaboration with hiring managers; strengthen employer brand and candidate experience; partner with the VP to implement engagement initiatives (staff surveys, team building, retreats); design onboarding; support the DEIB roadmap with Staff Council, the Black Liberation Team, and working groups; coordinate professional development and trainings; support performance management; monitor compliance with employment laws; develop and communicate people policies; serve as a confidential contact for workplace concerns; conduct compensation and benefits benchmarking; maintain HR systems; and track people metrics (turnover, engagement, time to hire). Requirements: minimum 5 years of progressive HR or People & Culture experience (non-profit or mission-driven preferred); working knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance; experience leading recruitment and talent management; ability to design HR policies, programs, and systems; strong communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and HRIS platforms; commitment to feminist, equity-centered approaches; and comfort working across cultures in diverse, global contexts.
