War Child Alliance is seeking a Senior Executive Secretariat Coordinator (32–40 hours, consultancy) to serve as the operational right hand to the CEO of the War Child Alliance Foundation. The role acts as a force multiplier for executive decision-making, driving agenda-setting and follow-through for the International Management Team (IMT), strengthening the CEO-IMT-Supervisory Board connection, and leading or coordinating priority cross-organisational initiatives on the CEO's behalf.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as thought partner and trusted advisor to the CEO, providing counsel and preparation ahead of key decisions
- Own the cadence, agenda-setting, and follow-through of the International Management Team (IMT), ensuring meetings are well prepared, decisions recorded, and actions tracked to completion
- Coordinate high-quality preparation of materials, briefings, and follow-up for Supervisory Board and Board Committee meetings
- Lead or coordinate priority cross-organisational projects and strategic initiatives delegated by the CEO
- Maintain an overview of organisation-wide priorities, decisions, and interdependencies across departments
- Manage the Office of the CEO, including oversight of the Executive Officer and coordination of executive support functions
- Act as a proxy or representative for the CEO in internal meetings and, where delegated, external engagements
- Strengthen internal communication and information flow between the CEO/IMT and the wider organisation
- Support the effectiveness of the IMT as a team, including input on team culture and decision-making processes
- Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and correspondence for high-stakes engagements
Profile: Postgraduate qualification in business administration, public policy, international development or similar (desirable); 8+ years senior leadership, strategy, or executive-support experience (Chief of Staff, strategy lead, or senior advisor to CEO); experience coordinating executive/governance bodies; experience in international, humanitarian, or development environments is an asset; fluency in English required; additional languages (Arabic, Dari, French, Spanish, Ukrainian) useful. Open globally with preference for Amsterdam-based candidates.
