Internal Communications Support Intern (f/x/m) - Brussels - MSF Belgium
CONTEXT
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence, and neutrality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organization.
We are looking for a motivated Internal Communications Intern to join our team in Brussels. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in staff communications within an international humanitarian organization. The Internal Communications Unit ensures the internal communications flow with colleagues in our programmes and within HQ.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the responsibility of the Head of Internal Communications, you will be in charge of:
Intranet Management
* Managing the OCB Intranet mailbox: handling access requests, troubleshooting common issues, and managing approval workflows
* Maintaining page style consistency and fixing broken links
* Assisting with translations of pages (French/English), ensuring quality checks from native speakers
* Updating and publishing content on the intranet
* Collecting and organizing feedback, sharing insights with relevant teams, and tracking user feedback
Content & Editorial Support
* Keeping the editorial planning calendar up to date with external and internal events
* Assisting with the Operations bi-weekly updates
* Creating articles and adapting visuals (for different internal channels)
* Contributing to internal e-newsletters
* Support the creation of our staff magazine Contact (from proposing ideas to the publication process)
* Reviewing department newsletters for ideas and inspiration
* Producing short videos when needed
Ad hoc support
* Organisation of events, MSF Shop, library management,...
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
* Studies in communications, media, social sciences, or related fields.
* Experience with graphic design, video editing is an asset
Competencies
* Comfortable with digital tools
* Precise, autonomous, curious and proactive
Languages
* Professional Proficiency in French or English, is mandatory
* Professional working knowledge of the other language is an asset
CONDITIONS
* Expected starting date: As soon as possible
* Location: Brussels, Belgium
* Contract type: Unpaid student internship - Mandatory convention to be provided by the school
* Length of the internship contract: 3 to 6 months (4 to 5 days a week)
* Time allocation: Full-time
* Reimbursement (100%) of public transport costs, and 7 EUR/day worked in the office to cover lunch costs
* Department: General Directorate / Internal Communications Unit
