The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) exists to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. It does this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Role: Programme Manager, reporting to the Programme and Impact Lead. Salary £44,500. 18-month fixed-term contract (full-time). Location: Central London, hybrid.

Deciding which projects to fund and evaluate is key, as is making sure funding and evaluations are delivered to the highest standards. Programme Managers are responsible for identifying, assessing, funding and supporting programmes designed to prevent youth violence.

Key responsibilities:
- Make sure YEF chooses the best organisations to work with by assessing funding applications, critically appraising delivery plans and budgets, and getting to know potential grantees. Use these assessments to form recommendations to the senior leadership team about which opportunities to pursue.
- Work closely with grantees, external evaluators and the internal evaluation team to ensure that funded activity will be evaluable to the highest standards. This includes supporting and advising grantees on working in the context of an evaluation, usually a randomised controlled trial (prior experience of randomised controlled trials is helpful but not required).
- Build strong relationships with grantees and provide ongoing management and support throughout the life of their funding, including project visits. Monitor grantee performance, ensure targets are met and that project risks are effectively mitigated.

The role involves overseeing several projects at once and juggling many tasks simultaneously, managing multiple partners and resolving conflicting positions.

Closing date: 9am, 6th November 2026

HOW TO APPLY:
Send a CV and a cover letter (maximum 1200 words) answering the three application questions listed in the posting, and complete the monitoring form via the "Apply here" button by 9am, Friday 6th November 2026. If you have specific expertise in any of the Youth Endowment Fund's focus areas, mention it in your cover letter.
