Management Consultant - Utilities (Utilities Energy Transition Consultant)

About the team: A diverse team focused on driving the net zero agenda across a wide-ranging portfolio of clients. The mission is to expedite the energy transition, reducing emissions while ensuring a stable and affordable energy supply that supports robust future economic development. Work spans strategy development, delivery of innovative new technologies, and organisational and operational excellence, from capital infrastructure projects building new energy generation plants through to energy retail.
In this role you will:
* Work alongside clients to understand their challenges and guide them to success in the energy transition
* Use structured, innovative problem-solving to find the right solutions for clients
* Deliver data-driven consulting with deep analytical capability, including financial analysis and market data analysis
* Recommend and use innovative technologies to answer client questions
* Project manage using delivery methods such as Agile, Lean and Design Thinking
* Apply relationship and stakeholder management skills to accomplish team objectives
* Communicate with excellence in writing, conversation and presentations
Experience sought:
* Strong industry experience in utilities (particularly generation, transmission and distribution, electric vehicles or retail energy)
* Broad knowledge of global power and energy markets in the context of the low carbon energy transition, including drivers and challenges
* Technical expertise in low-carbon asset development and asset operations
* Experience working with technical and engineering stakeholders to drive operational excellence in the low carbon power sector, including process optimisation
* Experience designing new business models or transforming existing ones, including organisational development, capability mapping and operating model change
* Expert knowledge of a specific element of the energy system (e.g. gas to hydrogen, balancing markets/ancillary services)
* Understanding of the UK regulatory environment, with experience analysing market changes and providing insights
