The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that promotes and protects human rights globally, with a focus on closed societies. HRF produces the Oslo Freedom Forum, an annual human rights conference in Norway.
The Senior Designer develops and delivers visual projects for HRF. Working under the guidance of the Creative Director, the Senior Designer leads design projects from concept through completion, while providing design direction, mentorship, and guidance to junior members of the creative team as needed. The role ensures that all creative outputs align with HRF's mission, strategy, brand, and design standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from initiation to completion, from conceptualization and execution through production, working closely with Project Management.
- Develop concepts, experiences, and designs that bring HRF and its programs and events to life, with a particular focus on the Oslo Freedom Forum.
- Support the Creative Director in concept and design development for large-scale, complex projects, from campaigns and events to experiential activations.
- Own assigned projects from brief through final delivery, producing high-quality work on time.
- Execute designs independently with strong craft and attention to detail, incorporating feedback constructively.
- Document design systems through guidelines and finalize templates and asset files for delivery.
- Produce high-quality design assets across print, digital, and environmental applications.
- Create mockups for events and activations, as well as reports, posters, merchandise, and other branded assets.
- Ensure adherence to brand guidelines across all deliverables.
- Provide recommendations and input on production processes, including print specifications, fabrication methods, and material selections.
Qualifications:
- Background or degree in design (Graphic Design BFA)
- 5-7 years of experience
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
- Strong print production skills
- 3D experience
- Strong communication, teamwork, time management, attention to detail, and adaptability
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include fully covered medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a flexible PTO plan; and a company-paid holiday schedule.
