War Child Alliance Foundation works to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children affected by conflict. It is seeking a freelance consultant to review and strengthen its social media presence on LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube. The consultant will assess how effective the current presence is and develop actionable recommendations to increase audience reach, engagement and influence, aligned with organisational objectives and the communications strategy.
Objectives:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the Foundation's social media, including the current LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube profiles and activity.
- Benchmark performance against peer organisations, NGOs and sector leaders, with attention to professional and institutional audiences.
- Assess audience growth, engagement, content effectiveness, brand positioning and tone of voice.
- Identify opportunities to expand reach among priority audiences.
- Develop a social media strategy for 2027 aligned with the Foundation's strategy and communications approach.
- Produce practical recommendations and implementation tools.
- Build internal capability through knowledge transfer and guidance.
Deliverables: Inception Note; LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube Audit Report; Benchmarking Report; Social Media Strategy; Implementation Toolkit; Final Presentation to the communications team.
Timeframe: approximately 6-8 weeks from contract signature; the project must be finished in 2026. The consultant reports to the Head of Communications.
Required qualifications and experience: demonstrated experience developing social media strategies; experience with LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube; experience working with NGOs, humanitarian or international organisations; analytics and data interpretation; stakeholder and audience strategy; experience turning strategy into practical editorial systems; understanding of B2B/institutional audiences where relevant. Professional proficiency in English is required. The opportunity is open to candidates globally.
Evaluation criteria: understanding of assignment (20%), methodology (25%), relevant experience (35%) and value for money (20%).
