Wellcome is a global charitable foundation that improves health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships. Through its 'Solutions' programmes, Wellcome is taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health. Wellcome is recruiting Programme Managers to join the Strategy Integration team within the Strategy Department, helping turn the priorities of the Solutions programmes into coordinated delivery and impact.
Working closely with programme leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will bring structure, insight and momentum to complex work, translating strategic choices into deliverable plans, maintaining a clear view of progress, risks and dependencies, and working effectively across organisational boundaries.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of programme goals and outcomes to define strategic priorities and measure impact.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear programme plans, milestones and accountabilities.
- Partner with programme leaders and teams to monitor progress, identify emerging issues and use evidence and learning to inform decisions.
- Connect work across research, policy, engagement and other functions, building alignment and managing dependencies.
- Lead planning and prioritisation activities that help teams focus effort and resources where they can have the greatest impact.
- Coordinate programme delivery by managing milestones, risks, dependencies, budgets and resource planning.
- Design and facilitate workshops, planning sessions and reviews, while improving ways of working and communication.
Minimum criteria:
- Significant experience managing complex programmes, projects or portfolios involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and interdependent workstreams.
- Demonstrable experience translating strategic objectives into delivery plans, milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Experience identifying, managing and mitigating programme risks, dependencies and delivery challenges.
- Evidence of building effective working relationships and influencing stakeholders across functions, teams or organisations without a direct reporting line.
- Experience using data, evidence, programme metrics and insight to inform prioritisation, monitor progress and support decision-making.
Salary: £62,640 - £78,300. Contract type: Permanent. Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the Euston Road, London offices (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
