Location: Sana'a, Yemen
The Country Director provides strategic leadership to one of DRC's largest and most complex country operations, driving DRC's comprehensive and solutions-oriented approach to displacement in Yemen. As DRC's senior representative in the country, the Country Director is accountable for all aspects of operations, including programme quality, safety and security, people management, financial stewardship, risk management, compliance, and external relations. Responsibilities include leading and developing the Senior Management Team; representing DRC to government authorities, donors, UN agencies, and partners; overseeing strategic and operational leadership across the country programme; leading donor engagement, fundraising, and advocacy; holding overall accountability for safety, security, and duty of care; ensuring financial health, sustainability, and compliance of the operation; leading development and implementation of the country strategy; and promoting accountability to affected populations. Requires minimum five years' management experience in emergency/development contexts as a country director or senior manager, experience managing staff in insecure locations, budget and multi-donor contract management, fundraising and donor relations experience, and a Master's degree in a relevant field. English required; Arabic desirable. 12-month contract, Management band (D), unaccompanied/non-family duty station, suggested start date January 1, 2027.
