Precision Development (PxD), a global non-profit using technology, data science and behavioral economics to serve smallholder farmers, is hiring a Program Manager for its weather forecast initiative. The role sits at the intersection of meteorology/atmospheric science and program delivery, acting as a technical translator between PxD's forecasting partners and internal teams, government partners and other stakeholders. The successful candidate does not build forecast models directly but must genuinely understand ensemble modeling, forecast skill metrics and model uncertainty well enough to explain, in plain language, what forecasting science can and cannot currently deliver. Responsibilities include synthesizing complex scientific findings (forecast models, agronomic research, MEL data) into accessible reports, briefs and presentations for policymakers and practitioners, and supporting structured communication between PxD's scientific partners, internal teams and government stakeholders. The role builds on PxD's work disseminating AI-generated monsoon forecasts to over 52 million farmers across India in 2026. Candidates should have 4-6 years of relevant experience, a degree in physics, statistics, applied math, engineering or a quantitative field, proficiency in Python or R, and ideally familiarity with geospatial/climate data tools (xarray, netCDF, GIS) and climate adaptation or digital agriculture. Strong written/oral English is required; Hindi is a plus. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Application deadline: October 6, 2026 , 6 pm WIB (Western Indonesia Time / Waktu Indonesia Barat) (applications will be reviewed as they are submitted)
