CIMMYT, a CGIAR international agricultural research organization working on maize, wheat, and related cereal systems to support smallholder farmers in the Global South, is hiring a Grant Portfolio and Stewardship Manager (internationally recruited) to lead its Grant Management function. This leadership role has a cross-institutional mandate to strengthen how CIMMYT manages performance, risk, and donor stewardship across its full portfolio of active donor-funded awards, working closely with Programs and Finance. Responsibilities include owning the management view of the post-award grant portfolio (tracking obligations, delivery performance, compliance exposure, reporting requirements, and renewal risk), maintaining a portfolio health framework, leading portfolio reviews across functions, and leading the Grant Management team as a portfolio and advisory function rather than an administrative service desk -- setting objectives, allocating workloads by risk and priority, and building the team's advisory capability in donor compliance and portfolio risk. The successful candidate is expected to modernize the function using CRM, automation, and data-driven dashboards. Requirements include significant progressive experience in grant management, donor compliance, or portfolio management within an international organization, research institution, NGO, foundation, or multilateral; experience managing complex institutional awards through implementation, reporting, amendments, and closeout; staff supervision experience; and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable CRM/grants systems. Experience in agricultural research, food systems, or climate resilience is a plus. Initial three-year fixed-term contract with internationally competitive expatriate benefits including housing allowance, relocation, and home-leave airfare.
