The Senior Investment Officer is assigned to the Agribusiness Investment Team (AIT) in the Office of the Director General (OPSD) within the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD), based at the Resident Mission Office in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The role reports to the Country Director, MNRM, Advisor, OPSD and/or designated International Staff and may oversee junior members. The officer provides technical support in the screening, due diligence, structuring, obtaining of approvals, negotiation, implementation and closing of direct debt financing, guarantees, equity investments, and technical assistance programs in food and agribusiness companies across ADB's developing member countries, with core focus on Mongolia. Responsibilities include: leading and supporting transaction processing including financial assessment, credit rating, and valuation; conducting due diligence on market, commercial, technical, environmental, social, governance, and integrity issues; ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and market best practices; leading structuring, negotiations, and legal documentation; drafting concept and Investment Committee papers and Board documentation; developing a pipeline for private sector direct agribusiness investment by identifying potential debt or equity transactions; nurturing relationships with food and agribusiness companies, financiers, and advisors in the region; coordinating handover of portfolio projects to the Portfolio Management division; supporting strategy and planning work with other PSOD teams and departments, including Mongolia CPS work; and contributing to knowledge sharing and learning events related to private sector development and agribusiness operations.
